The 1911 Desert Eagle?
8-Dec-09 – 12:41 by ToddGFrom our friend Baxter:
“And another 1911 is being made… but your dreams have been answered! The Desert Eagle people have Govt & Commander length 45 pistols scheduled for 2010 . Black finish , $799 retail . They will be made in their MN facility.”
Something tells me the folks at Wilson Combat are not quaking in their boots over this announcement.
Train hard & stay safe! ToddG

Hopefully they will be more well made than their POS .380s

Wonder who they’re buying their frames and slides from?

My apathy towards their offerings cannot be quantified with mere words.

will there be a gold plated diamond encrusted option?

I’ve gotten to shoot two desert eagles. One in .357 and the other a baby eagle in 9mm. The .357 kinda sucked. It would be great if I had hands like Shaq. The baby eagle is possibly the nicest fitting double stack that I’ve ever held. Loved the grip, loved the trigger, great point, and awesome groups. Most guns are just guns, but every once in a while it seems that one was made for just you.

@Brice – the “Baby Eagle” is actually a Jericho 941, which is a CZ-75 clone internally.

The Baby Eagle (nee Jericho) is a CZ-75 clone-if you like it might as well try out the CZ itself, and other CZ clones.

The Jericho is manufactured by IWI (the Uzi folks) in Israel and imported by Charles Daly (KBI). I’ve always been a fan of Israeli weapons anyway, so that was a plus for them. I like the Jericho a little better than the CZ because I have small hands and it’s easier for me to control the .45acp in the Jericho. I like that lifetime warranty on the Jericho also, but I guess everyone is starting to offer that now.
