‘Round the Web Round-Up

  • Tam at View from the Porch points out what should be obvious to gun shop owners but isn’t: a gun that remains untouched in a holster is always safer than one in a stranger’s hand.
  • TCinVA posts the second update of the Hi-Point Challenge on Gun Nuts. TL;DR version: hold it like a gangster and it’s so reliable not even uncontrollable deep belly laughs will stop it.
  • Also first seen at Gun Nuts, Glock’s great new competition commercial has been published to YouTube. Wouldn’t it be great to see this during the Super Bowl? Come on, Gaston. You’re worth eleventy bazillion dollars. Push it to the mainstream! YouTube Preview Image
  • At Way of the Multigun, Chris talks about how to tackle the unique characteristics of the Glock trigger.
  • blr provides visual proof that a Wilson CQB can run dirty… though with only 43,200 rounds through the gun, what does he know?

  2. Wow… Used to be, you had to watch Gossip Girl to get that kind of drama.

  3. Glock just became hipster. Oh my Goodness. My glock gives me confidence to live my life. COME ON! (Says the Glock 17 owner), I pray it’s not a gen 4 with an 0-1 RSA and the pre 32704 ejector.

It was good up until that. You’re right, commercials would be good though.

  4. Great post!

I like these sorts of posts…because I’m lazy.

  5. I have to agree about the “confidence to live my life” thing.

“My Glock gives me the confidence to defend my life.” I could get behind.

“My Glock gives me the confidence to shoot bad men in the face.” That would be pretty cool.

…but to “live my life”? Seems a bit excessive.

Of course, I have noticed that ever since I’ve been shooting a Hi-Point my will to live seems to be draining a bit…so perhaps there’s something to this after all.

Oh, I don’t know about you, but I just don’t think I could roll over and out of bed in the morning without knowing that Gaston was out there, giving meaning to my life…

  7. I took it more as “to live my life as a competitor.” It also makes one think about, in contrast, folks who wrestle with the race guns to keep them running optimally, etc.

  8. Fanboi.

    :p

  9. I wonder if a pro competitive shooter has ever been involved in a self defense shooting against multiple attackers, and what the results were.

  10. I thought the commercial was pretty good. I called over a female investigator who was a competitive shooter in college to get her opinion. She watched and then; “Yeahhhhh, he’s HOT”.
Evidently there’s something here for almost everyone.

  12. Oh, it was a slick commercial and great eye candy, it’s just that they’ll take away your internet license if you pass up a dig at Glock marketing… ;)

  13. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that at some point in time the shooter was involved with the 75th.
