Springfield/Warren 9mm 1911 Endurance Test: Report #27

19-Aug-13 – 18:55 by ToddG

49,999 rounds 14 stoppages 0 malfunctions 4 parts breakages

If only I’d had one more round!

In all seriousness, there’s a plan in place for firing #50,000 later this week. Once that’s done I’ll have some in-depth posts about the gun, reliability, and my feelings toward 1911s in general.

Train hard & stay safe! ToddG

  3. Hi todd if you can do an accuracy test after 50,000 that would be great.

  4. That’s some pretty serious testing. Thanks for the information.

  5. Todd, I was a couple of lanes down from you at the NRA range yesterday, I’d have been happy to lend you a 9mm round (I even had 115gr Blazer!). Seriously, some truly amazing shooting!

  6. Ha! Thanks, Lou.

  7. Well done! The next project should be again a polymer gun. I would love to see the Walther PPQ M2 in your Hands.

  8. Looking forward to the in-depth post! It would be neat if the next test gun were something from a major manufacturer that we’ve all seen, but that has never really been publicly tested. I would love to see how Sig’s 2022, FN’s FNS, or even better, Beretta’s PX4 hold up in the long run.
