Yeah, it’s the grips.

Oh, and the trigger guard is missing, too.

  2. Well, you obviously are an Ivy League northerner……….I will just about bet that was a former Texas Ranger pistol. I still see those style grips carried on L/E duty guns here in the Republic.

  3. Has the grip safety been pinned down as well, or is that just my bad sense of proportion?

  7. maybe one day our kids or grandkids will look upon our glocks as something unsafe and without a safety etc etc etc….

that gun above was carried in harms way by a man trained and used to that style of pistol, I be if that gun could tell stories we would all be in wonder.

  8. There was a Texas ranger called Manuel (Lone Wolf)GONZAULLAS, that used to cut off the trigger guards of his pistols in a like manner although I don’t recall the remains of the trigger guard being bent downwards like this one in the photos I’ve seen

  12. Seriously though, if you find yourself in Waco, hit the Ranger museum. Lots of cool guns, and your admission dollars help people take care of old cool guns.

  13. I would sure hate to slam in a fresh flush 7rd mag and jam that lanyard loop into the meat of my hand…

  14. This is a nice pistol!

Fully dehorned, bobbed hammer, trimmed slide lock lever and safety. Checkered front strap. Nice blued finish. Looks like it has a custom trigger, too.

Somebody spent big bucks to build their dream combat pistol. This thing was cutting-edge in its day. No wonder the NRA is displaying it.

  15. Why are you all respecting stupidity? Stupid is stupid, even if the user wastes money to build stupid well, or manages to survive using stupid.
Cutting the trigger guard off your gun is… you ready for this?… Stupid. In any context, for any reason. Stupid.

    Stupid.

    Stupid.

    And… yep… Stupid.
