Time for a little rant.
I just finished reading a thread on a to-remain-unnamed discussion board about trigger reset and how it plays a role in shooting. There were some good points and some bad points, as you would expect from any online discussion about shooting technique. But one particular point ...

Here's one of the many photos from their page. Follow the link above to see them all.

74,067 rounds
10 stoppages, 0 malfunctions, 4 parts breakages
Such a busy week, we officially had to rename Saturday "Thursday Mk2." Over four thousand rounds went downrange since the last update, and as you can see we're just around the corner from the big Seven Five.
The trigger return spring broke after firing ...

DannyR over at GlockTalk has posted a photo from the last page of the 2010 Glock Calendar which clearly shows the new Gen4 pistol.
(I'm still under a non-disclosure agreement and cannot discuss my personal experiences with the guns at this time)

Got a second confirmation today that SIG will have a prototype of its striker-fired P250 at the SHOT Show next month. Presumably -- and this is just speculation on my part -- the SFA variant will require a completely different fire control unit, meaning current P250 owners will need to ...

68,996 rounds
10 stoppages, 0 malfunctions, 3 parts breakages
Yesterday while shooting, I had a stoppage with my P30 test gun. Upon inspection, it appeared that the slide had failed to cycle properly, preventing the spent cartridge from fully extracting and ejecting. Since it had been about 9,000 rounds since the last ...

Unicorn. n.
a mythical creature
anyone who actually takes responsibility for making a safety-related mistake on the range
It happened again today! Guy at the range pointed his gun cross-range, I walked over to tell him to be more careful, and he apologized and thanked me for pointing it out. It's just weird.
I ...

From our friend Baxter:
"And another 1911 is being made... but your dreams have been answered! The Desert Eagle people have Govt & Commander length 45 pistols scheduled for 2010 . Black finish , $799 retail . They will be made in their MN facility."
Something tells me the folks at Wilson ...

Really, this just speaks for itself. Thanks to gotm4 of M4Carbine.net for the pics:
How in the world did someone put that revolver, in that condition, in a box without realizing it was completely and utterly FUBAR? Screwing up a machining process I can accept. It happens. But letting something like ...

I get asked about XS pistol sights all the time, and keep meaning to write something in-depth about them. But the issue came up at HKPRO again today and my quick response there seemed like a reasonable start:
I would not recommend the XS sights. Some people have a religious fervor ...

At the range this afternoon, I looked over and noticed a gentleman in the next lane pointing his gun across the range rather than downrange. As usual, I tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Sir, you need to make sure the muzzle is pointed downrange at all times."
A couple minutes ...

65,250 rounds
9 stoppages, 0 malfunctions, 3 parts breakages
More than 4,000 rounds this week! To be honest, I didn't even realize I'd been shooting that much.
Most of my range time this week has been devoted to playing around with my grip technique more. This led me to swap out the Large ...

It's been a long, long wait but the M&P9 PTC is finally going into production. For those of you who have pre-ordered pistols, G&R Tactical will be contacting you over the next few weeks.
At least some of the 250 planned guns are still unspoken for, so if you are interested, ...

Just read on Julie Golob's blog that Rudy Project has introduced a new shooter's kit with their Genetyk frames and the same two lenses I use in my Rydons, along with an additional Laser Black lens for when you don't want to rely on the photochromatics. If this kit had ...
