This past weekend, I had the great pleasure to teach a group of guys in Georgia who accomplished something no other Aim Fast, Hit Fast class has done so far: graduate every student with at least an Intermediate score on the F.A.S.T. drill!
All twelve students shot the drill in under 10 seconds. And they did it in the freezing cold rain that apparently pours down whenever a yankee comes to town to teach shootin’.
As you’d expect from such a high performing class, we had a number of F.A.S.T. Wall inductees:
- Brian Ellington (4.66)
- Sean Murphy (5.65)
- Tod Litt (5.94)
- Timothy Parker (6.04)
- Kevin Bouchard (6.53)
- C.B. Edwards (6.90)
Congratulations to all of you, and thank you for starting off pistol-training.com‘s 2011 year with a bang!
Train hard & stay safe! ToddG
So a coin? Good job guys!
Unfortunately, I didn’t make the wall with my meager 7.37 (clean) run. I couldn’t even do that twice. I had two in the 6.xx range but that doesn’t mean squat when you pull both head shots. lol.
Todd … you didn’t even mention the horse.
Great class. I was glad to be a part of it.
Rob E — no coin. But on any given Sunday, Brian could earn one.
VG — The horse didn’t shoot at least Intermediate, so it didn’t count.
I know those guys! Great shooters. I am sorry I missed the class. Now there is NO WAY I can beat them in IDPA!
Great class. Thanks Todd!
My first run at the FAST drill on TD1 was 13.xx and consistently improved over the next three runs. My last run was a 7.05. This speaks volumes of the kind of instruction we got last weekend!
AWESOME job guys!!!!!!!!! congrats to all of you!!
A scientific, thoughtful approach to the martial art of pistolcraft by a instructor who seeks the quality input of others (students and contemporaries) for the sole purpose of making the art better. Such an integrated approach produces the results below:

I watched each student drastically improve over the weekend
despite the weather! Congrats to all! Captain / Team Short Bus
Thanks Tod and Todd!
… and that folks is the man that nearly won a coin.
Team Window Lickers out.
What part of the state? Us semi-Floridians miss a lot of the good stuff.
Congrats to the guys on the wall. I know there were at least 3 guys that had a good chance of scoring a coin. I’ve got to believe better weather would have helped. Thanks for the great class Todd.
This was an excellent class. The caliber of ALL the students was the best I’ve ever seen in a class. It’s nice taking a class that doesn’t have a “That Guy”. Everyone stepped up to the plate even in crappy weather. Congrats to all, an intermediate score and above is outstanding.

Boy, do I really feel like I let the team down now. š
Self-defense is not a team sport.
@ Tam – Bah, don’t sweat it. If you enjoyed the class and learned a few things, (God knows I did) you will continue to reap the benefit of it. If you are who I think you are, Todd spoke highly of you.
This was the most advanced group of guys I’ve trained with and I’m thankful for the opportunity to shoot with them. Thanks to Todd, Tod and everyone in the class – y’all were a hoot!

Yeah, yeah, whatever, but… 1/100th of a second and you could have written this post six months ago?!?!
Aaargh! The sun was in my eyes, or something!
