.45 vs. 9mm?

Does anyone really think small projectiles are as good or better? How about one these coming at you? Of course, we can’t carry those with us, but it does make the point. In the meantime, high standards for accuracy are the only way to hedge our bets.

  1. Between Speed and Accuracy … Accuracy is ALWAYS the priority. Once accuracy is achieved, speed will come. ALL shooting is a balance of speed and accuracy.

  2. I’ve had the .45-v-9 conversation at a few police depts. at my previous career. I’ve asked the hypothetical that if they’re heading into a known gun encounter, what would they chose? The answer is almost always an M4… when I remind them that an M4 is a .22 caliber their computer usually resets.
Accuracy is the key but a little velocity ain’t bad either.

    1. I’m not actually trying to say anything about 9 vs. 45, I just liked the canon. Slow and very big can be very effective, but the difference in size with handgun bullets that are all pretty slow, is certainly not very meaningful.
