A Glock Koan

No, not What is the sound of one Glock clapping?

But instead, When is a Glock not a Glock?

Or, for the less zen among us: If it looks like a Glock and quacks like a Glock, is it a Glock?

Caleb over at Gun Nuts has added a Lone Wolf Timberwolf to his shooting battery. While this isn’t the first time it’s been possible to build a “Glock” without using any Glock factory parts, the Timberwolf is definitely the first design that has a chance to gain some traction in the marketplace. The frame has a number of user-inspired features that are popular customizations performed on genuine Glocks all the time. Caleb’s particular gun does in fact have some actual Glock parts in it, but they are all easily replaced by aftermarket offerings if someone so chooses.

We’ll see how it runs in Caleb’s hands before making any pronouncements.

  1. I’m not a glock user, but it seems like glock dropped the ball by not stepping up to the plate and making these changes. Kudos to Lone Wolf for filling a market gap and satisfying discerning glock enthusiasts.
Thanks to you Todd for keeping us all informed.

  2. If you have no Glock, he will take your Glock.
If you have a Glock, he will give you a Glock.
