Caleb at Bianchi

Caleb shares his personal insight from this year’s Bianchi Cup with the world over at Gun Nuts.

You’re not going to read that he won, or that he would have won if only he hadn’t done this one little tiny list of seventy-three things wrong, or that he was top shooter among all the males shorter than four foot eight, or whatever. One of the most interesting things about Caleb’s self-reporting is that he’s brutally honest with himself and then completely open about it with the whole world online. The ‘net is full of folks who will brag about their successes (or even fabricate success) but woefully short* on honest experiences.

I really have to go to Bianchi next year…

Train hard & stay safe! ToddG

* “woefully short” is not an attempt to make fun of Caleb for being so woefully short.

  1. Hey, nothing wrong with being short, I’m 5’3″ and one of only 2 IDPA Masters at my local club.
    I got your back Caleb.

  2. It’s a fun match, but very very hard.

Anyways I do the same after virtually ever match. It is hard to gloss over your screw ups if they are in black in white for all to see. Along with video.

Still doing my video editing, and write up for Bianchi though.

  3. Hilariously, right after Top Shot aired, one of the trending Google searches for me was “Caleb Giddings height.” I’m 5’6.

I had genuinely high expectations going into the Cup this year – I had trained, I had a great gun, and I’d been shooting great in practice. Everything was right there for the taking, and the only person I have to blame for that is myself. The hard lesson is learning how to overcome the mental failures that lead to my finish.

  4. Lol. He still shot better than I would’ve. Good shit anyway, dude. And thanks for being such a good sport about it.

Also, Gun Nuts Media is always a good read.

  5. Can`t wait to read what is coming from Caleb, definitively mind set is a huge part… Really appreciate the opportunity to learn from these sites… tnx to Caleb and Todd !!!

  6. Your honesty is refreshing to say the least, and a testament to the strength of your character. There’s no question you’ll get where you want to go because that strength of your character will get you there.
