A slight departure from our normal content, here is a list of 200 companies that are interested in gun safety. Somehow, I think their use of the term gun safety doesn’t quite match my use of it. All of us want a safer community. There are things we can do to make that happen. Smart people who run companies should be held to a higher standard of thought, rather than pick the hot button political issue and pretend to do something.
Obviously this is not the first time something like this has happened, but this is the lastest list I have seen. Thankfully, I already don’t do business with any of them, but if they just kept their political opinions to themselves, I would have no issue patronizing them.
Why CEO’s think they have any business advocating for any kind of change like this is beyond me. Thankfully I’ve decided to not buy new Lululemon yoga pants, as I see they’ve thrown in with this stupidity. And, I see Dick’s just can’t help but still be involved with this crap too. Do they even sell any guns at all anymore?
It just seems to be getting worse. Instead of focusing on making and selling, they want to posture.
The “we must do something” culture is so tiresome
I choose to believe that the majority of them mean well, but thinking that Congress can fix the issue demonstrates their lack of understanding of the issues.
I’m also reasonably sure that this “petition” was sent around by those with an agenda, and that the amount of participation indicates that the media’s narrative is basically effective amongst lay persons.
I used to think they meant well, and some probably still do. That small group must be pretty naive though. The rest of them have an agenda, afaic. Our politicians, otoh, all know what they are doing.
