Curse you, Razor!

As mentioned in this past week’s Glock test update, last Sunday some of the students at Aim Fast Hit Fast in Salt Lake mentioned JJ Racaza‘s variation of the Triple Nickel wherein he shoots three per target instead of two. So it’s draw, three on each of five targets plus a reload all in under five seconds. I tried it… didn’t make the time.

Yesterday, some of the pistol-forum.com staff and friends spent the day on the range and this was one of the drills we tried. If you ever needed proof that yes, you can hear the buzzer while you’re shooting… here it is. As soon as I fired the last shot, I knew I was just over the limit.

Five point zero six seconds. Point. Zero. Six.

Dammit.

  1. Wow that’s just sexy–no homo. Just shows how much more i need to work on my grip to try and achieve that level of muzzle control/quick target re-acquisition in between shots.

  2. I seem to have detected an edit in the audio just before you said “damn it”.
Could you have possibly used a different word?????

  3. The Fish — The only editing done to that clip was to cut out a couple of seconds before the buzzer went off.

  4. Good lordy… +1 on the muzzle control. I watched this one like five times, and laughed at the dammit every time.

  5. Damn that kind of muzzle control in my tiny universe can only be achieved with reloaded amunition… You are good mate….

  6. Eric — From concealment. And while I cannot be certain, my guess is that he’s doing it with a SIG P229 in 357 SIG!

  7. I shoot with a low number coin holder. According to him they don’t reload from slide lock.

This should pick you up that fraction of a second you need.

  8. DAMN IT!

hahaha, I can so relate to that sentiment.

You are so close, that is a very impressive piece of shooting dude.

  9. CDI — I don’t recall what my splits were.

rsa-otc — Done properly (which assumes you can reach the controls, etc) a slidelock reload takes no more time than an in-battery reload.
