I usually ignore all the mistakes Hollywood and TV make, but this one was entirely new for me. Post in the comments if you know which show this was in. Or just laugh, either way. Looks like a Serpa too, but I can’t say for sure. If I was anti-1911, this would make a great meme.
The most recent Dexter series had a real head scratcher you might appreciate:
Near the end of the series Dexter buys a rifle for his son to hunt deer with. It is clearly a CZ 457 with the sound effects and power of a .30-06. It also has a bizarre combo of an Area 419 rail and one of those cheapo Amazon “tactical” 4x air rifle scopes on top.
The Rimfire/centerfire switch is nothing new but I was surprised by the 419 rail. Seems odd they picked a nice rifle with a somewhat obscure aftermarket rail, and then a cheap Chinese Amazon scope.
WTAF is up with that pic lol. I mean, maybe that is the new hotness? I guess I’ll have to try….
A good friend of mine used to be an armorer in the movie and TV world, did a ton of shows, Stargate, Underworld, Sniper, The Revenant, etc. and he says it was a constant battle on most shows, especially movies, to get anyone to actually care about proper gun use, or gear use, with a few exceptions. Shows like Stargate started to listen to him after a couple seasons and it shows, but other productions were a nightmare. He was not surprised that Baldwin shot 2 people having worked with him before. I would guess other professions feel the same when they see their stuff shown too, I bet doctors lose their mind watching medical shows.
“I bet doctors lose their mind watching medical shows.”
Yes we do. It also amazes me how fast laboratory tests like PCR and Mass Spectroscopy is done (it is way more than a few minutes, maybe like a few hours).
Yellowstone, another show I don’t watch. The scene is after the big barfight after Beth loses her mind when another girl hits on Rip. Rip tells the Serpa dude about terrible things that will happen if he lays hands on his wife (Beth), cause yeah, that will certainly deter LE from doing their job.
For someone who doesn’t watch it, you nailed it. We have mostly enjoyed it, though this last episode that had SS CAT guys killling dogs on the rez really jumped the shark for us.
yeah the dog killing was absolutely just a strange thing to do. Made no sense plot wise, or in any other way.
The next shark jump for me was the scene with the mounted RCMP, hahahahahahaha omg, outside of the musical ride, they have very very few mounted officers. Those guys would have been out there on quads or in trucks, not on horses. There are no patrols like that anymore.
I think I saw the show with that image. I forget the name but I think it was a documentary about the FBI.
There was an episode of Law and Order I was watching and Stabler got shot in the chest while wearing his bullet proof vest. He was lying on the ground, and in typical TV fashion, opens up his shirt to reveal the bullets in the vest and I could clearly read the headstamps of the cases!
