According to this morning’s update, a company has stepped up to supply the gun.
This should be fun to watch. I’ve got $20 that says he doesn’t win USPSA Production Nationals with it. Any takers?

I’m pretty sure Justin is going to have lots of video and insight. To his credit, he’s running this as a straight up test, giving the Hi-Point all the same advantages he’d give one of his other game guns. Who knows, this could become the beginning of the Hi-Point Pistol Team!

I toyed with the idea of getting a High-Point, only so that I could go beat some vocal guys shooting Wilson Combats and Nighthawks at local IDPA matches. 😀
Nothing says drug dealing quit like a high point .40. I’ve taken a few off the bad guys and it doesn’t bother me knowing they will be destroyed. I’d be very interested to see how it fairs.
Even Dave Sevigny couldn’t win the Production nationals with a Hi-Point, since it’s not on the USPSA production list.

One of my guys had a foot chase a few nights ago, caught the bad guy after a bit of a run, I later heard him telling the other guys on our shift that the only reason he caught the bad guy was bad guy got tired from carrying the High Point he had stuck in his waistband.
That must have been the Highpoint carbine right? 😉
I’m leery of Hi Points not only for the obcenely low price, but the fact that they’re direct blowback operated considering the pressures generated by the 9×19 and 40 S&W cartridges. Way the hell off topic, but I have a question: I’ve noticed that the PX4 and the Cougar have a reputation for being unreliable. Is it because the rotary barrel system is inferior to the Browning pattern? Not looking to bust anyone’s balls, but I am genuinely curious.
Oh, this aught to be good. I believe them to be the bottom of the barrel after the owner of the local pawn shop, who is a Taurus fan, refuses to take Hi-Points in.
Recently I had a guy on a forum accuse me of being a gun snob because I didn’t appreciate his Hi-Point. Hey if all I could afford was a $150 gun then so be it but really?
I did meet a guy at the range who had some really nice guns and gear, then he pulled out a 45ACP Hi-Point. He said that he bought it just for fun and had taken a deer with it the year before.
I own a hi-point 9mm, bought because it was cheap. It obviously can’t compete with an M&P Pro or other “real” guns, but I’d take it over a rock or knife every day of the week. It took several hundred rounds to break in and feed properly. Now it pretty much just goes bang. Good luck winning a match with one, but I do not expect it to break during the match as others have said
