Langdon Class in Virginia

(this class is now full)

Ernest Langdon, many-times IDPA and USPSA champion and former chief instructor at the U.S. Marine Corps’ famous High Risk Personnel program, is one of the best pistol instructors you could ever find.

I count myself lucky to have met Ernest early in my shooting career and he is one of the key people (along with Ken Hackathorn and Rich Verdi) who shaped my approach to both shooting and teaching. Ernest does not teach very often any more, but next month he is holding a class in Culpeper, Virginia.

The class is entitled Advanced Tactical Pistol Skills and will be held on Saturday 21-Aug to Sunday 22-Aug.

I’ve attended this class twice (almost ten years ago) and it still ranks among the best learning experiences I’ve ever had. An AAR from his most recent class can be found here at M4Carbine.net.

There are only a few slots left. I do not want to post Ernest’s email address, but if you are seriously interested in signing up for the class, reply to this thread. You don’t need to post your email address publicly, just make sure the email address required for posting is correct and I’ll pass it along to Ernest.

  1. I’d love to go to this class, but unfortunately can’t make it that weekend. Hopefully, I’ll make it to the next one.

  2. Those who are able to attend should make it a priority. I attended the last LTT class held in Culpepper in 2009 and it was a very valuable course.

  3. I still refer to notes I took during an EL class close to ten years ago. Don’t hesitate, sadly he doesn’t teach often.

  4. I would like to sign up for the Langdon class. Can I get info? I was at your last Speed Kills in VA and you mentioned another shoot in aug. any update on that?
    Thanks Brant

  5. a long string of epithets, followed by my distinct sorrow at not being able to attend this class.
Ernest was the first pro instructor I ever took a course from. His course did the same for me, as it did for Todd, it shaped my entire view on how to shoot. It gave me a new sense of how to operate a handgun, and the functioning of the machine in my hands. I hope he continues to teach, and more regularly. I would happily bring him to Canada again, and would have no problem filling a course. Man, I wish I could go.

  6. Todd –

I would like to register for the Langdon Class in VA. Thanks for your help Todd.

  7. Thanks to bobby for letting me know the class has filled. The next time Langdon holds another open enrollment class, we’ll post it up here again.
