To all of the U.S. servicemen and women, past and present, who have dedicated their lives, risked their lives, and given their lives for this country, we thank you.
To all of the wives, husbands, children, parents, and friends who have watched their loved ones ship out for the next tour of duty, we thank you.
Without you — all of you — there would be no United States of America. Without you and the sacrifices you have made, the world would be much diminished.
So while our country spends today at picnics and shopping mall sales, know that some of us do remember what this day means, and we thank you for what you have given us.
