P30 Thursday: Week Nineteen

35,958 rounds
7 stoppages, 0 malfunctions, 1 parts breakages

For those who aren’t reading everything in the Comments sections, obviously last week there was no P30 Thursday post. Unfortunately, other priorities have kept both range time and online time to a minimum so far in September, but that is something we’re hoping to change … soon.

Just a few range trips since the Week Seventeen report, a little over 2,200 rounds fired. No new stoppages or breakages to report.

Things should be ramping up again in the coming weeks. We have a deadline, after all!

Train hard & stay safe! ToddG

  1. any pics of wear spots on the gun Todd. curious to see how it’s handling your abuse.
One thing I totally forgot to ask you to do measure was the mags. I’m curious to see if the lips of the mags spread much during your tests. I know that every gun I shoot I have to adjust the lips at some point due to the constant hitting of cement at my range.

  2. You better hurry up!

If you need help getting more rounds down range, let me know…I’ll hook you up. Just leave it with me and a few cases of ammo. I’ll drive it back up north eventually.

  3. Hi Todd, wondering…deadline is 50.000 rounds? or surpass the 36 weeks the M&P shot before the damage event? wish you a good week, thanks.

  4. Rob E – There really isn’t much wear to show: some finish has polished off the locking surfaces of the barrel and the slide release lever. Otherwise, the gun really is pretty much like-new.

Sean — Can’t do that, but if you have a range we can spend a day or two at, I have been known to travel for free ammo, especially usgov free ammo. 😎

svega — Like with the M&P test last year, our plan is to shoot to 50,000 rounds. If HK asks to extend the test, we’re more than happy to do so, of course. Another 3-6 months with this pistol would certainly be no hardship!
