In what will no doubt be a much-debated decision, the Supreme Court of the United States today upheld the Second Amendment as an individual right based on self-defense. You can read the whole decision here.
This is a win for our side, folks, make no mistake about it. Let me be the first to nominate Justice Scalia for sainthood …
For the most part I don’t think much of Scalia but I am happy about this result.
It will be interesting to see how Chicago, S.F. and the other ultra liberal venues try to skirt the ruling.

What part of “shall not be infringed” is ambiguous?
I’ve send this before T, but Scalia is my favorite Justice on the Court.
And now? Jeah, sainthood works for me.
😀
I read that the DC Chief of Police said that the ruling applied only to revolvers and “automatic and semi-automatic” handguns were still banned. I’m not too sure about those automatic handguns, but I thought the semi-auto variety had been around for about 100 years, which ought to place them in the customary and usual category. I’ve got a feeling that Heller will be the only citizen who can register his handgun in DC. I should be surprised that they are fighting the ruling, but I’m not.
