Springfield this morning announced a recall of all 3.3″ XD-S pistols in both 9mm and .45 Auto.
“Springfield has determined that under exceptionally rare circumstances, some 3.3 XD-S™ 9mm and .45ACP caliber pistols could experience an unintended discharge during the loading process when the slide is released, or could experience a double-fire when the trigger is pulled once.”
Visit www.springfieldrecall.com for instructions on returning your XD-S to Springfield for a “component upgrade.”
The recall does not affect XD or XD-M guns, only the XD-S.

Wow, this genre of slimline, ultra-compacts are taking a beating. The Kel-Tecs have never had a great reputation for reliability. The Shield modification for certain guns and now the XD-S recall.
As Joe Dirt would say, “Dang!”
Haha, Springfield saw the Shield recall and not to be outdone, decided to recall the XD-S. Now all we need is for Glock to recall their slimline 9mm…oh wait. Nevermind, still dreaming
