Target Update

Received an email this morning from National Target. If all goes well, the official pistol-training.com target should be delivered by the end of August. Hopefully, they’ll be here in time for the Aim Fast, Hit Fast class in Los Alamos.

Minimum initial order was 10,000 targets, so I’ll have a few extra lying around. We’ll have to hold some sort of contest here at the site to give away a few hundred. Any ideas?

  1. I think the guy who gave you the issue of Gun World you were mentioned in should get a few…. 🙂

  2. Todd…based on our past history together with the 92D Centurion with disconnect…I would like to score some of those targets for training and drills at my agency. We qualify on the “Q” and having the same target with pre-printed drill aimpoints would be a Win-Win for us. Beats the heck out of my having to draw the drill aimpoints down a line of targets with the sharpie. 🙂

I will be off to Little Rock AR next week for training but will get in touch to get the info to purchase some from you. I doubt I can talk my boss into buying a minimum of 10,000 from the factory! I

  3. Thanks as always for the encouragement, guys. Whether or not National Target chooses to sell these as a cataloged item will obviously depend on whether there’s enough demand to warrant stocking them. More info as it trickles down to me…

  4. Hold a postal shooting match like IDPA does. Best target/time wins 100 or 500 or whatever. Hold several, for 100 each time, and hold them using different types of events, like an IDPA postal theme, and IPSC theme, etc. You can make it as simple or complicated as you like. Perhaps they can be held in conjunction with local IDPA/IPSC clubs.

  5. How about a contest to have the most awesome P-T.com youtube video? This of course I will win, hands down.

  6. How about only allowing those who are at least 7,000 miles away from home to be eligible?

  7. How about having people guess what the round count will be for your next HK45 update, or at what round count the first failure occurs at?

  8. Best new drill with the new target to address a specific skill gap wins some number of them. Todd picks the skill gap and he and a few of his fellow teachers vote.

  9. Give one with each certificate to encourage your students to practice?

  10. flip a challenge coin. who ever calls it, wins 100 targets.

    oh wait, nevermind.

    hahahaha

  11. As a printer I would have to say a 10,000 minimum run sounds like a lot!

Is there some thing special about the? Ie orange peel or something?

  12. National Target hopes to have a sample made for final approval in about two weeks. We’ve made one significant change, the target will now have a “torso outline” like the excellent IALEFI Q targets I’ve used in classes for years.

  13. Will thes be up for sale in your store? It never hurts to have something different to shoot at.

    1. Hopefully, we’ll know more about availability within a week or so. At this point, it’s 100% up to National Target whether they want to inventory and sell the target to the general public. If not, and if there is still enough demand, we’ll make them available through another online store.
