The 2012-2013 Endurance Test Gun

The next endurance test gun has been selected. The test will not begin for a while, but when it does I believe it will be very interesting to a lot of people who’ve followed this site over the years. So without further ado:

The 2012-2013 pistol-training.com Endurance Test Gun will be (highlight the space between the red text)…

  1. Naw, what you gotta do is view source on the page. It’s right there. Really.

  2. I’m going to say a Walther. Either a PPQ or a PPS. I highlighted the red letters and that’s the clue I got. No matter what gun it is, I am looking forward to seeing the enduranc test.

  3. It will probably be a 9mm Walther, but Todd is going old school retro and has decided to run a P38 for the rest of 2012…

  4. I’d love to see a prolonged torture test of the Walther PPQ. No other recent pistol has as much potential.

  5. I’m guessing it will be the p30 striker fired prototype, that H&K is working on(at least that’s what is rumored).Just can’t wait to see what it will be.

  6. Hi-point in 9mm? Bud’s sells a ton of them and everybody just ‘loves’ them… 😉

  7. FNS or PPQ would be great to see run this hard.

    Or Todd may be so smitten by the capabilities of the subcompact Gen 4 G26 he just shifts those few degrees. Heads would explode however. 😉

  8. I believe it’s something new from Taurus. Something about the “Improved QC” that made Todd give it another look.

  9. With all the cranial combustion talk, I’ll list my guessing in order of absurdity (greater to lesser).

    1) A Smith and Wesson revolver or;
    2) A 1911 of some variety or;
    3) A Caracal F or;
    4) A Smith and Wesson Shield

  10. I think it should be something with a red dot on top. I’d like to see how one of the mini red dots would stand up over a typical ToddG torture test.

  11. Strike one, Caracal?

    1911 or sig sauer?

    Not Xd…

    Hmmm… I got it!

    HK VP70, the original plastic wonder!

  12. We know it’s not a PPQ, XDm, or CZ since Todd has made it clear he either doesn’t trust their reliability, or their short triggers. That leaves either SIG, Berretta, or FN. Am I missing any?

  13. F-Trooper, how do CZs have a short trigger? Serious question.

    I vote for some form of a 1911, or possibly an Airsoft Beretta.

  14. Mindblowing, but still potentially serviceable? Presumably from a company with the budget and knowledge to seek out Todd?

    Maybe Sig’s back. P250?

  15. @TheNewbie,

    He wrote short trigger or reliability. Todd isn’t comfortable with the Walther PPQ’s short, light trigger for AIWB carry. He doesn’t trust the CZ’s reliability having seen so many go down in his classes.

    @F-trooper05…I would think SIG, Beretta or FN, but Todd mentioned it would blow people’s minds…which those 3 don’t; they’re pretty logical. So I’m with John…..1911 or revolver. I’ll add Hi-Power to that, though. Those would be unusual choices for Todd…mindblowing, if you will. Whatever it is, it’s 9mm….I highly doubt he’s going to dump the 135,000 rounds of 9mm he ordered recently.

  16. Sig 229 40

    1911 45acp

    hope its one of these, I would really love to see the sig go through this and see how it holds up. Is the Sig 229 as good as they say?
    I guess the same gos for the 1911 so many fans and I wonder what it can take? I like both of these guns I’m not trying to be a hater.

  17. My guess is STI GP6. Advertised service life of 110,000 rounds. Would be interesting to call their bluff.

  18. TheNewbie, CZ’s don’t have short triggers. But do a search on this blog for “Zed” to understand how Todd feels about them.

  19. I’m mailing my holster to him for my Desert Eagle as we speak. 100,000 rounds of 50AE should prove to be interesting to his wrists.

  20. High-cap 2011 is my guess…….or Da/Sa P30L due to the trigger difference and interweb discussions and merits of each.
