The 2012-2013 Endurance Test Gun

The next endurance test gun has been selected. The test will not begin for a while, but when it does I believe it will be very interesting to a lot of people who’ve followed this site over the years. So without further ado:

  1. Hmmm. Intriguing.

M&P Shield was the first that came to mind.
Maybe an XDs. That would be cool.
    Otherwise, I’m calling Taurus.

  2. hmmm…intereting. Although I would like it to be the S&W Shield or PPQ. I know he doesn’t like the short trigger on the PPQ and he really wants to carry something full size, i.e. no shield.

I was thinking FNS but I don’t know if that would blow our minds. One of the other guys said, something with a red dot on top…that would be very very interesting!

  3. How about deep cover carry weapon, I’ve been following the NPE discussion in HH’s thread on TPI. It’s been informative and a long term high round count training and gear set up would be a aewsome data point.

Might just blow up some heads……..

  4. Maybe it’s that 19 that Todd couldn’t get running at the beginning of the current pistol torture test. Glock plans on finally getting it back to him in a month or so LOL!

  5. Todd didnt just blert out that the selection would make heads explode, he was agreeing with a previous poster that choosing a G26 would make heads explode.

  6. Guys it is written all over Todd’s face–he is jumping on the retro bandwagon and had a Colt SAA re-chambered in 9 mm with moonclips.

  7. Not sure if I missed it or not but was there a date posted of when Todd will release what the new gun is?

  8. I’m sure whatever Todd selects will be fun to watch and read about through the next year, but personally I’m hoping for something that is NOT plastic for a change.

  9. STI 2011 9mm. I think the service life of modern plastic pistols has been proven. I’m sure we would see very similar results with the FNS, PPQ, etc. that we have seen with the HK and Glock. The 2011 seems to be gaining in popularity so that would be very interesting to see.

  10. I’m betting on the New Russian Arsenal Firearms Strike One “Strizh” Polymer Pistol. That would make some heads ‘splode.

  11. My guess is something smallish – Ruger LC9 or maybe even LCP, Beretta Nano, etc. Like it or not small carry guns are quite popular with the masses.

  12. I hope it isn’t the PPQ, I’m already “torture testing” (kind of) one. I’m at 12,000 rounds or so in 4 months, will hit 40,000+ by the end of the year. It’s already gone about 4,500 rounds between cleanings with no malfs, and the torture test would be extremely boring because this gun simply will not malfunction. It is as well made and reliable as anything on the market out of the box.
