  1. I think his right shoulder twitch is like the the return arm of an old typewriter resetting his brain’s position to sit back on the stem.

His family in the background picture must be proud to know how the powerful 1911 blue gun is protecting their family.

  2. Curby — Thanks. I’d never seen that video (Yeager) before and didn’t make any connection between it and the video I posted above. It was certainly never my intention to “attack” another instructor. FWIW, I think the “1911 blue gun” video stands on its own as funny even for those of us who didn’t understand where the shoulder shrug thing was coming from.

  3. WOW!! Makes me want to go out and buy a Blue Gun LOL J/K That was funny! All I need is a Blue Gun and I can shoot awesome. And think all these years I have been going to the range and shooting my Glock and for traing using the orange Blackhawk Demo gun (I picked up for $20 online) that has served me well. He has 13 years of internet expirnce and watched traing vids from all over the world. So he knows what he is talk about??? He seems high to me especailly with that shoulder thing going on. I think I will be sticking to my reaguler training gun and going to the range to shoot my Glocks. Thanks for the vid. This was made my day Todd!

  4. The original video that I linked to above shows an instructor being quite pro-Glock and anti-1911. Your (ToddG’s) response to this type of thinking in general was the well-written “The Wrong Gun” blog post, whereas Que made a parody directly in response to that one video.

In short I don’t think Que was just making fun of the shrug/twitch, but rather the entire thing. Or who knows, maybe it was just the shoulder thing after all.

  5. Thanks for all the back history, Curby. I’m not sure if it makes it more hilarious or less, but I’m still sending this link to friends 😉

  6. That was brilliant.

How the dude holding the camera managed to not bust out laughing through the whole thing remains one of the great mysteries of the internet.

  7. I was trying to figure out what the shoulder twitch was about then read the comments and watched Yeager’s video. If Yeager is putting out videos like that it just reinforces my decision to ignore him.

He may have some good ideas and some quality training but there are plenty of rock solid instructors without the retardation and controversy.

  8. For clarification: if you want to talk about James Yeager, he has a forum you can join and do so directly: getoffthex.com. Let’s not turn this thread into a bash of another instructor, please.

  9. This started out as a post on the Indiana Gun Owners website. You can find the original there and compare the two.

  10. (And will he take a 1911 gray gun in on trade? It doesn’t teem to have the same surgical qualities as the blue ones…)

  11. It’s good to see everyone is adopting internet learning…I actually became a Marine by watching Full Metal Jacket and Jarhead.

  12. I agree that the blue 1911s are more attractive than ANY of the black plastic guns and their iconic history makes them one of the most interesting handguns in existence but… I shoot in the IDPA and the folks I see having the most malfunctions are the blue 1911 shooters in CDP. I’ll stick with with my XD.

  13. I have countless hours of internet experience too…uh, we can count porn…can’t we?

  14. That guy stole my idea, dang it. One of the best video’s I’ve ever seen. Steroids make you twitch.

  15. Jim,

It’s a well-known FACT that blue XDs don’t let me PULL the gun like the 1911 blue gun. :p

  16. Notice that he’s seen training videos, “Even from Canada!”

And not even a hint of a smile the whole time! What do we need to do to get this guy on SNL?

  17. And not even a hint of a smile the whole time!

The dude is so absolutely poker-faced that half the people who commented above appear to believe this is a serious video. I am in awe.

  18. Great, all the tacicool kids have 1911 blue guns and I’m stuck with this old Glock Blue gun.

I don’t think I’ll go to school today.

  19. Huh. So, if the guy in the funny video was an instructor, it wouldn’t be ok for poke at him. But since he isn’t, it is?

I get that it’s parody, but by your own admission you didn’t know that when you posted it. And… there are instructors out there that are only marginally less idiotic (*cough*Yeager*cough), and some that are more.

That said, the parody is flippin’ HILARIOUS.

  20. I was laughing so hard at that video I aggravated an old shoulder injury. Now I have the same twitch he has.

  21. Guys thanks for all the funny comments and link back to INGunOwners.com. Todd I know one of our members hosted you here in Indy a couple years back.

Que is one of my fellow Moderators on INGO, and a class act. Turns out he’s also a fantastic actor, lol. As already stated, the video was indeed a parody, as his shirts are rarely that tight, nor his shoulder that twitchy. It was not an attempt at mocking Mr. Yeager directly, but rather playing off his recent controversial video.

Todd thanks again for spreading the hilarity!

  22. He’s a really cool and down to earth kind of guy, obviously funny too. I wonder if I get the 1911 blue gun to replace my kimber tactical warrior, would I become any cooler?

  23. Outstanding parody! As we used to say back in the day, “It just don’t get no better!”

    Best, Jon

  24. Wow that is hilarious. 13 years of internet training. What a vet! Damn I need a blue gun…

  25. To be honest, It strikes me as a bad idea to so openly mock a firearms instructor…Especially if you operate in the same circles.

(and while we’re being honest, I kind of agree with Yeager, 1911’s aren’t practical for carry and defense. Reliability aside, it’s hard to safely carry and use a single action gun. Round in the chamber, hammer down with a firing pin interrupt are the bare minimum for safe daily carry. I’ve never seen anybody do a good draw with a 1911 while simultaneously cocking the hammer.)

  26. johnkard:

He was mocking far more than one firearms instructor’s (deliberately) over the top video. He was mocking most internet gun debate, the macho posturing (and sheer stupidity) of so many intenet discussion, cheesy cable TV advertisements and a host more.

As for 1911’s I don’t carry one these days because they are too heavy, and frankly I generally don’t carry anything at all because I don’t need to. I also agree that 1911’s tend not to hold up as well as modern pistols in high round count range sessions. But I did carry a beat up old Remington Rand 24/7 some decades back because the Army told me to, and I had no doubt that it could reliably feed and fire every round they issued me. Reliability in high-round count competitions and reliability when you are going to fire a mag or two can be two very different things–a point that a lot of instructors have understandably not focused on because their job involves stressing pistols through high round counts.

In any case, this guy is extremely funny–even if he was having fun partly at our expense.

  27. Definitley loved the video =)

Opinions aside, It’s nice to see people having fun discussions and arguments (as long as no bullets fly off the range)

  28. “Let’s just call it $250”

That’s some gun show math if I ever heard it!!!

  29. 1911″s? Phuleeeese! Men, real and true, will carry nothing less than a proper brace of flintlocked horse pistols. Anything less is unbecoming for the proper gentleman.
