And because I know someone is going to ask:
- Retail price including base gun ~$7,500
- Current wait time is 18-24 months
Call Jason Burton at 480-804-1911, mention the codeword “DeadOwl” and receive 95% off and delivery in one week. Though you may not get quite the same gun as the one pictured above.
Train hard & stay safe! ToddG
(thanks to SLG and Julie G for the incredible gift)
Nice looking blaster. Will you be posting a list of all the features and how you picked each?
Wonderful pistol and even more wonderful friends.
I rolled, literally, with my 7K Ned’s gun in Arizona sand and gravel for three days. Holstered in that awful kydex that’s so hard on finish.
I dare you.
Very sexy piece. I can’t imagine if it would be worse to shoot it or to not shoot it!
Jesus Christ, $7,500 for a 1911?
I wants a knife like that, same wrap too
GJM — I will, but only after speaking with Jason when he can spare the time. I just don’t understand enough about the finer details of 1911s to know what is noteworthy and what is not. ”
YVK — It’s my carry gun. It will go through absolutely everything I do with a gun. I’d love to bring it to a class, but ECQC is out for me for other reasons.
J — WWJD?
Robbie — Contact nyeti on pistol-forum, he’s the one who gave it to me as a gift while I was in the hospital. It’s a HiTS from Joe Watson.
Beautiful, nice touch on the relief for the mag release and the TODDG9X19 on the holster.
It’s not really $7,500 for a 1911. Most of that is going to pay for an expert gunsmith to carefully work over every part and component to get just the right result.
To understand how this works, go on youtube and look up Singer 911. Just as with a Singer 911, the amount of careful skilled labor that went into producing that pistol is far beyond what anyone would understand just looking at the end product.
Building a 1911 as good as it can be built isn’t something one accomplishes for a few hundred bucks.
Is that a .45 ACP? Those rounds look different.
The next time my wife starts to complain about a handgun purchase I’m going to show her this. 🙂
That is a gorgous looking pistol. A true work of art. I hope you have any years of service with it.
Probably a silly question but did you go with a steel or aluminum frame?
Todd that is a great looking pistol. No, that is a beautiful looking pistol. Congratulations.
Great holster I like the D2R4 which I assume is shorthand for the F.A.S.T. Drill.
David: It’s a 9mm.
K-BOB: Steel.
Magnificent 1911, Todd. Kudos to Jason. It’s a great encapsulation of life, friendship, craftsmanship, and history. Its cost is one thing, but its value is priceless.
Best, Jon
