There has been a lot of interest in the pistol-training.com F.A.S.T. drill lately, so with a little inspiration from MichaelD at mp-pistol.com and input from our friend SLG (of SIMP fame), we’re proud to introduce the official F.A.S.T. target:

Train hard & stay safe! ToddG
Thanks for the credit, Todd. I hope my little contribution helps many…
coolio. thanks.
Todd,
I understand the workings of the test. (trying to get below 9 seconds myself right now)
But as a tactical training aid shouldn’t we (defensive pistol shooters) be training to make COM shots first and head shots later as necessary?
What I’m getting at is: doesn’t four body shots first, a reload, and two slow aimed head shots make more sense in a what Rob Pincus would call a “critical incident”?
NICE!!!! This is a real winner.
Rob E,
That question has been dealt with already under the F.A.S.T. Test page. Take a look…the order of shots has been carefully thought out.
I adapted the 8.5×14 to 8.5×11. If anyone is interested or Todd wants to post it, let me know how to transmit it.
Chris — As Lane pointed out, the answer to your question can be found in the F.A.S.T. F.A.Q..
HC — How did you get an 8″ target and a 3″ target to fit on an 11″ sheet of paper?
Email me where to send the PDF and you can review what I’ve done. There is some overlap, but I don’t see a problem.
I uploaded it to the public area of my Windows Live Sky Drive. Give this link a try and let me know your thoughts.

I have removed my version from the public area. Todd pointed out several valid deficiencies. For my level of proficiency, the 8.5×11 are probably OK. But for shooting at advanced levels, it is clearly inadequate.
Back to your previously scheduled program.
That rocks. I will no doubt print it out and use it alot on the range. Great job!
Todd G.,
Thanks for another great drill that I can use to help train the officers with their markmanship.
