The PiMP

Hot on the heels of last month’s “Come on, SIG!” post we have the SIG Pistol Mount Package:

Complete with “call now, supplies are limited” and “the first 100 callers will receive a free…” language, one cannot help but think the rumors of Billy Mays’s death were just a dastardly deception to hide the fact he is chained to a dungeon wall somewhere in Exeter, NH. What really kills me, though, is that all joking aside, the SIG Classic series pistols are some of the best designed, best performing guns in the world when they’re put together right with quality parts. In fact, I think I’ve carried more SIGs (and for more years) than any other brand gun.

Hat tip to Tam (“SIG won the contract to supply sidearms to Food Court Team 6“) who linked it from Robb (“millions of mall-ninjas squee’d in unison“).

Train hard & stay safe! ToddG

  1. I can’t wait for the multi-tacs drop leg holster for that bad boy!

PS. Clearly some people at SIG need to be fired.

  2. “I think were gonna need a bigger holster….”

(in my best Roy Scheider voice)

  3. Greg — I LOL’d.

J — Plenty of people have been fired at SIG already. Most of them for complaining about stuff just like this…

DirtCrashr — Sure enough you did, and I missed it. Kudos to you for breaking the story!

  4. It’s like what our stuff (graphics) started to look like when we were managed by people who managed Sky-Mall… That thing needs a monopod or something.

  5. You know someone is going to buy this albatross, and as long as they do Cohen and company will continue to give the fools what they want, laughing all the way to the bank.

  6. WTF is up with that ??? Sure, you’re going to carry that POS in your custom holster.

Why doesn’t Sig create an add campaign how they are reclaiming their quality IS BACK !!! Instead of BS like this. Another reason I switched to HK pistols.

  7. STL-900: $125 (and still overpriced)
    STS-081: $120 (and still overpriced)
so for a combined value of $469.95 that mount must be worth over $220.

    Oh Exeter, you so crazy.

  8. Yeah, it looks like Sig has “jumped the shark.” Rather than concentrating on producing a few excellent firearms, they seem to be running about in schizophrenic manner producing new products and changing classic ones Ad nauseam. It’s like flavor of the month gone bad with guns.

  9. “Jump the Shark”? I’d say it was more like using the shark as a jump rope…

  10. Ask George Harris how complaining to the owner worked out for him…..

  11. This is just sad, but still isn’t the reason I don’t own any SIG products anymore.

  12. Offer good until monday sept 30th. Last I looked Sept 30th is a Friday. They Don’t even proof the ads. Wow

  13. Chuck, they mean Sept 30 2013. That’s how long it’s gonna take to sell enough of these to recoup the add cost.

  14. After Sig came back under the banner of Sig Sauer instead of Sigarms, I would have thought that the parent company in Europe would have something to say about all this lunacy.

I mean Sig Europe can’t be pleased that Cohen is driving away every contract and making them the laughing stock of the firearms industry.

  15. i have seen a bayonete for glocks…. I guess somebody could put on t poor sig too. Of course then no holster will do you no good… Then you will a katana holster (mode of keedex…???)!

  16. I once met a guy that for real, carried a Sig 229 357 Sig Stainless Steel model with a Dr. Optic RDS, CTC laser grips, white light and a comp in an IWB holster. He was a long time moderator on the Sig Forum. When he came out to shoot a match with us, he couldn’t hit a thing. It was absolutely ridiculous.

  17. To think George Harris used to say SIG = Simple is Good.

    Hey where is the Todd Green Productions “Sig Gadget.” I am waiting for it to come to late night TV so I can get a free set of Ginzu knives with it. 9-;
