Many-time National & World Champion Dave Sevigny has set a new record on the F.A.S.T. test … an astounding 3.75 seconds. The break down on the record setting run was:
Draw: 1.54 seconds
Split (3×5 card): 0.27 seconds
Reload: 1.41 seconds
Split (8″ circle): 0.19 seconds
Split (8″ circle): 0.17 seconds
Split (8″ circle): 0.17 seconds
Dave has been the captain of Team Glock for a number of years and also runs his own training and development business, Sevigny Performance.
But Dave has been winning matches with his Glock pistols long before he was a sponsored shooter, beginning in 1997 with GSSF, winning his first IDPA Nationals in 2000, his first USPSA Production Nationals in 2001, and his first IPSC World Championship in 2002 . Presently, he has more than 125 major titles to his credit.
For this record-setting F.A.S.T. run, Dave used the following equipment:
- Glock 34
- Sevigny Carry tritium sights
- Kytac Beltlocker SH3 holster and MP-2 pouches
- Wilderness CSM Instructor Belt
- Competitor 1 concealment vest
- Atlanta Arms & Ammo 147gr 9x19mm (Team Glock load)
Of course, according to F.A.S.T. rules, Dave immediately shot the drill a second time and scored only 3.88 seconds … which is officially the second fastest time on record.
From everyone at pistol-training.com, congratulations Dave!
Awesome.
That’s a great run – Dave is a machine!
wow. just wow. well done Dave.
As I told Dave, now he’ll be really famous. 8)
We’re probably not lucky enough to have a video of that?
Lane — Dave has heard your request and so he dropped by the range to run the drill again, this time with a video camera. We’re hoping to have the video (and the new record, since he was even faster this time) before the end of the month.
I ROed Dave at the 08 Area 7 match. Explosive is the only way to describe his draw and first shot.
So what was the previous record Todd?
Whoa! Looking forward to seeing that on film!
