Pistol-Training.com is back!

If you’ve stopped by pistol-training.com over the past couple of months you may have noticed some changes. Between the necessary website updates and a refresh in the look, we’ve been slowly getting ready for this moment. Pistol-Training.com is back!

As Todd conceived it, pistol-training.com will remain a blog for like-minded people to learn and discuss various firearms-related topics.  Pistols and concealed carry will always be a going concern here, but there will be much more discussion about rifles and other aspects of the firearms world as well.

Todd was my training partner for many years, and though I mostly knew what his thoughts were on anything gun-related, I still read every post he wrote when he shared it so that I wouldn’t miss some nugget. I will not pretend to be as insightful as Todd was, but I hope to continue what he started, both as a lasting tribute to him, as well as a way for me to memorialize and sort through my own lifelong interest in shooting.

This blog will focus on using guns.

There are lots of places online to find content about guns and gear, latest or greatest, but not many gun people actually know how to shoot, or even seem that interested in learning the skill. Owning guns seems to be enough for them, and that is fine. For those of us whose passion is hitting what we aim at, the gun itself is not actually the most important part.

I hope that pistol-training.com will continue to be what Todd made it, a great place to read about using a gun. Todd was great at explaining the meaningful differences between guns, from a shooter’s standpoint, but in looking over the diverse array of guns he shot here, it should be clear that it is the shooter, not the firearm, that makes things happen.

Now, for some housekeeping items. In this digital age, things are much more complicated. The internet and how we interact with it have changed over the years. Though you can find us on Facebook and Instagram and we plan to share links there, the real discussion will happen here on pistol-training.com. We intend to carry on Todd’s tradition of keeping the comment section open. That means we have added a comment and privacy policy to address disclosures, cookies, and other concerns.

Welcome back and I hope you enjoy the new pistol-training.com as much as we all did the original. As Todd would say, train hard & stay safe!

      1. You’ll do great. The guys over on P-F.com are happy as hell to see you take it over.

          1. We miss you at P-F but glad to see you in the 1911 World. I’ll frequent here, now that the site is revived and in excellent hands.

  1. Knowing that you have the reigns is super cool. I’ll check in often to get updates ?

    1. Thanks! I hope to post every week or so, but lots of things are conspiring to prevent that, so fingers crossed.

    1. Thanks very much. Missing Todd is half the reason I took this on. I just hope to do half as good a job as he did.

  2. I’m really excited. I discovered Pistol-Training.com when I was first getting into guns and shooting right around the time Todd started his first endurance test. I learned so much from him even though we’ve never met. I can’t think of a better person to continue the legacy of this blog than you SLG. We do miss you on the forum.

  3. Excellent! This was my favorite corner of the internet. I’d still come back every now and again to revisit a drill or look for a nugget I might have missed or forgotten. Looking forward to learning more as you get it going again.

    1. Thanks for keeping up with the site, I revisited it many times as well and will be adding some drills in the near future.

    1. Absolutely. One of our goals in taking over the site is to ensure that Todd’s material is available for as long as possible. Lots of great information in there!

  4. Thank you for getting this started again. So much great information from TLG to re-introduce with additions of your own. Just great news all around.
