Critique your Shooting

I posted a short video of me shooting my P30SK the other day. I found it a very shootable gun that seems to handle above its size. It was in the low 30’s that day and I was wearing warm bulky clothes and gloves. It was not a beautiful range day where we might try and set new personal bests for things like draws or Bill drills. Nonetheless, my shooting in that video was subpar. I looked tense and too far forward.

I have been working on shooting more upright for some time and I thought I was there. That video convinced me I had more work to do. Using videos of yourself to improve is hardly new, but one of the things this blog has done for me is to force the use of more videos. Since I have to make the effort anyway, I might as well capitalize on it to improve my shooting.

I mention this as a reminder to video yourself and critique it. If you are unsure what you are looking at, ask a friend who knows more. If you need to, send me an email here and I will look at it, just don’t ignore a golden opportunity to improve.
