New “Dot” Connector from Glock

Seems there is a new connector being produced by Glock and installed in at least some guns. Details are scarce but read what little I know about it at pistol-forum.com. Hopefully I’ll have one to sample next month.

You have to give them credit, Glock provides end users with more simple user-configurable trigger options than anyone on the market. From competition-only light to ridiculously heavy, you can have your Glock just about however you want it.

edited to add: GearScout has posted a comparative photo of the “minus,” standard, and “dot” connectors at pistol-forum.

  1. Reading your comment on the pistol-forum I suspect you are right. They added this indent to the trigger part in order to make sure that trigger bar always hits right in the center of the firing pin safety and it added enough friction to the trigger pull to raise the weight a bit.

  2. I’ve heard the minus minus is sometimes called a “dot” connector. This may be incorrect. Are you referring to the minus minus?

  3. JoeC — My information is that the “dot” connector discussed here not the minus-minus and is in fact heavier than both that and the regular “minus” connector.

  4. I wish glock would release these super secret parts, as an IDPA shooter I like shooting SSP,it would be nice to have the FBI mag release which is similar in size to vickers and still be SSP legal…. and now the dot connector (or the minus minus). I find the minus connector a little to “squishy” for competition and just use the standard connector for now…. awaiting with baited breath.

  5. There is such a beast and I have one in my Gen4 17. I was sent one by Glock to do some T&E on after I made mention of the heavier than usual trigger pull for my duty gun. The Glock rep. called it the “ATF” connector and said that it is the connector the ATF guns are being fitted with. It has a very tiny dot where the “-” would be. The rep was not sure when this would be released, but indicated that future Gen4 guns may come standard with it.

  6. My Gen4 G21 Blue Label (May2011 test-fire date) came with a “dot” connector. It’s the smoothest out-of-the-box trigger pull I’ve ever felt on a Glock, and I’ve owned a score of them over the years. Compared it to a “_” connector, and while the “_” is a little lighter, I like the feel of the “dot” better. Seems to have a quicker release at the end of the pull.

  7. The new “blue label” G17 that I picked up yesterday has the “dot” connector. Test fire date is 27/June/11
